How did you attract/address your audience?
I believe I attracted my audience through my front
cover which had included information about the names of artists which are featured
in my magazine but also, the new band which was upcoming, Collided. The names I
had included on my front cover were artists which are seen highly within the
genre of music I am focusing my magazine around, Indie. The way that my band
members are dressed is very similar to current Indie artists which instantly allows
them to fit in with other current Indie artists. The pricing of my music
magazine is classed as average for a magazine which is what I had aimed to do
as I didn’t want to overprice the customers but also, with the price of my magazine
being within the same price range, it shows the customers that my music magazine
is on the same price range compared to magazines such as NME which are very
popular as they publish different genres of music. My contents page included
key information for the readers as they can see what pages includes the
information which they wish to turn to. With my contents page having pictures
of the band members I the bottom right corner, it encourages the readers to
quickly read about the new band as it has a few images of the bad during their
shoot having fun and being themselves. Also, when writing the titles of the
pages, I used information which will make them want to turn to that page to
read more leaving them on a cliff hanger until they continue to read. In
addition to this, I sectioned off the titles of the pages with headings to make
it look more professional as it would make it easier for the readers to find
the information they are looking for. I used other music magazines for ideas to
help mine as it gave me an idea as to what I could use and ow I could make mine
different to make it better and unique. My double page spread attracted
customers as my article was about a new band within the indie genre and their
life before making music up to now. The pictures which I had used on my
magazine attract the readers as they wouldn’t get to see the side that the
photographers get to see of the band as they don’t know them but from the
magazine, the audience gets an insight in to what they’re really like outside
of producing music. The quote on the double page spread is something which was
caught out of the interview expressing how Alfie Morgan feels about making
music. This shows the readers that this music band aren’t just in it for the
money but have a passion to make music which would address the readers
attention.
