Evaluation Question 4 - Draft

4) Who would be the audience of your media product?

My music magazine is aimed to attract the audience’s age between 16-25. This is because with the magazine being a new, upcoming band, this age group will be the age which would listen to new music always wanting to find new, good artists/bands. This age group would pay an interest in the music style which this new band are trying to influence people to like as that way, they will gain popularity making it in to popular music magazines but also having the chance to play music around the country. In addition, the age bracket which my audience is aimed at are in to the latest trends and with the music magazine I have made having the latest trend in, it would help to increase the profits of my magazine. I had decided to put the price of my magazine at £3.99 which is within the same margin as other music magazines. This is considered to be a reasonable price as it contains information of the latest trend but also with my target audience being within the teenage to early adult age, this price is reasonable to pay especially if they have an interest in music. After choosing the age which I aimed my magazine at, I researched the fashion and style which is worn by the artists of most indie bands. I also looked at the type of brands which were worn in this genre but it was mainly vintage clothes which were being worn such as old skool vans, vintage reebok clothing and many more such as vintage ralph lauren and doc martens. With these artists wearing vintage clothing, it can be expensive the fashion for this genre as some clothes could have a sense of rarity to it depending on whether this product was  made at a huge amount. When we had a photoshoot of the band members, Brad Lewis and Alfie Morgan. I made sure that they wore clothes which had a vintage look about them as you can see from the photos on my music magazine. In addition, my original band included Will Wright as well but after the first photoshoot, I believed that he didn’t fit the genre that I was focusing my magazine on due to his fashion senses compared to the other 2. This meant that I had to take pictures of my band without the 3rd member. Brad and Alfie both look very presentable when it came to the shoot as they both wore the perfect clothes for the magazine but also work well for the colour pallet which I had to chosen to focus my magazine on.
