Reflection of the week - Week 3

I managed to make good progress on my first draft attempt but I had to use trial and error a lot which had set me back a fair bit due to this being the second time I've used Photoshop as the first time was the preliminary task. With the software being new to me I was expected to make mistakes but I have learnt from them which would benefit me in the long run.

Plan for the week - Week 3

For this week, I aim to start working on my first draft attempt for my music magazine which would consist of a front cover, contents page and a double page spread. I don't aim to complete my first draft attempt but I aim to make good progress

Reflection of the week - Week 2

This week I as able to complete all the tasks which I had wanted to complete but also managed to get on to extra tasks such as filling out the results of my questionnaire after receiving 25 responses, completed research on photographers, graphic designers and analysing existing magazine titles.

I have chosen the theme of my fashion to be vintage and "old skool" as this is close to indie styled fashion which is what I have decided to set my magazine on. Indie fashion such as the top left picture of the lead singer of rat boy, Jordan Cordy, is a good example of Indie fashion along with the second picture along in the top left of Gosha Rubchinskiy.

Plan for the week - Week 2

For week 2, I would aim to complete magazine analysis of existing music magazines, possible fonts which I could use on my magazine. Also, I would aim to make mood boards for fashion and music. If I am able to complete all of these tasks for the week, I could move on to completing some of the tasks which I would've wished to get completed by the next week such as the 25 word pitch and filling out a music magazine for my audience to complete and to write up the responses.

Reflection of the week - Week 1

Week 1 went well as I was able to complete all the tasks which I had aimed to complete. Although I had completed all the tasks, I could've gone in to more depth on each post in order to make my research and planning more clear on what I aim to do.

Plan for the week - Week 1

I am going to be completing some research and planning for my music magazine. I will hopefully aim to complete a colour pallet with the colour combinations I could possibly use. Also, I would aim to complete an audience profile, a playlist of songs which I would wish to put in to my magazine.

Music mood board

As I want my music magazine to be orientated around the Indie genre, although there are artists which are not Indie within this mood board, I made it to get an idea of which artists could be featured on my magazine.

Contents sketch up - Preliminary

This is my preliminary contents page. When we have the chance to make our music magazine, I would hope to design my music magazine around my preliminary layout but with more detail. If I had the chance to change my preliminary contents page, I would add more photos to the bottom right corner having all of the information down the left side of the page.

Front cover sketch up - Preliminary

This is my preliminary front cover page. I made the front cover to have a medium closeup shot of my artist but as afterwards I had decided to have 2 band members instead of one, I had to change the image for the front cover making it a medium shot instead of a medium close up. The price of the magazine is too high which I would lower if I had the chance to make my own music magazine
